Lead:

Transitioning from Abraham's story to Isaac's story, and an interesting demon story.

Intro:

Welcome to a new week! And sometimes you just want to go… <sound effect>

We…in our coffee and commute time together today have a lot to get through. Or rather, I say that from the perspective of still finding the new rhythm of the show. I’ve kinda had that 22 minute format so ingrained in me that this five-day-a-week format going a little longer feels, uh, longer.

A couple quickie notes as we get rolling, today. One, yesterday inaugurated the new weekly newsletter, and I’m happy with letter #1 one started, including some stuff extras that aren’t in the podcast. If all that’s news to you, you’ll find a signup form the bottom of any page on the website which, oddly enough, is called forthehope.org.

Second, super big news for me — I got legal permission from the publisher of the Christian Standard Bible to use their version for all my shows, so that’s what I’ll be using until further notice.

So, picking up from where we left off from last week…you heard me cry through that whole Abraham-gonna-sacrifice-his-son bit, and that was a big deal because God’s covenant with Abraham was that he’d father nations and that the world would be blessed through his progeny. Today we turn the corner in the big section of Genesis about, broadly speaking, Abraham, and get into the next big section which is, broadly speaking, about Isaac.
