Focus Question:
Who is Jesus?
Intro:
I awoke yesterday feeling a deep hurt at what’s going on in the United States, but what you wouldn’t know is that I ended that reflection actually feeling the sense of hope that I was hoping you would feel. THAT, my friends, is the power of God’s word and Spirit. What’s crazy, though (at last for me) is that yesterday’s passage ended with Luke’s genealogy that, as you’ll recall, was Luke tracing Jesus back to being the Son of God. I’ve never read a genealogy and had it affect me as a profound moment of worship.
NEW TESTAMENT SEGMENT:
Today our reading in Luke includes a turn — from Jesus being prepared for ministry including his being tested in the wilderness to the beginnings of His ministry where Luke answers, in a sense, the question of “Who is Jesus?”
Passage: Luke 4

Passage: Job 22-25
Translation: CSB (Christian Standard Bible)
