Remember, argument simply is making a case, which is different than being argumentative. And today’s Paul uses a form of argument that was common in the Jewish and Roman cultures of his day, one where you take a point to it’s logical conclusion when that conclusion is absurdity (the fancy latin words for which is reductio ad absurdum).
