Lead: Have you ever had one of those times where, as a parent or employer or friend, you needed to tell someone something they really didn’t want to hear?
Intro: BIG ANNOUNCEMENT! Today I am splitting the show — changing up the show in a couple big ways.
The daily audio Bible will be just that. I’m going to add in the Psalm reading each day. Additional commentary will be less about doing a lesson and more about reflection and application.
The other stuff will not necessarily be daily, but will map to other work I’ve got cooking — namely refocusing on A) my speaking/training and B) getting the next book written.
Sponsor:
Today’s sponsor is….you! If you are getting benefit from what we’re doing together here, would you “pay” for it by spreading the word? Bonus points if you post a link to a blog post somewhere like Facebook. Thank you so much — this is definitely a team effort!
Bible segment:
Passage: Job
Translation: HCSB (Holman Christian Standard Bible)
Words: ~1004
Apologetics segment:
Sufferers should realize that God’s power is available for all of life, even to carry them through their severest trials. When we see that God is truly the God of all life, we have a comforting assurance that, whatever may happen, God’s good purposes for our lives will be accomplished. (1)
Wisdom segment:
Passage: Psalm 135
Translation: HCSB (Holman Christian Standard Bible)
Words: ~345
The bottom line:
Watch The Bible Project’s video on Job (below) if you haven’t already.
Love you!
