Lead:

As Jesus prepares for ministry, today's reading has one of the key verses that supports the doctrine of the Trinity.

Intro:

One bummer, since this year we switched to doing our read-the-bible-in-a-year in five days a week, is that I’ve got less time to dialogue with you. For instance, thank you to Karyn, Cheri, Scott, Sylvia, and I’m probably forgetting someone…thanks for taking time out of your day to share your appreciation recently.

But…here’s a big deal…I’ve decided to, for the time being, do our NT reading first so that, IF something gets pushed into the next day to bring our reading in on time, it’s OT stuff. Not that it’s less important, but because we still look at the OT through the lens of the NT.

So today Luke 3 we’re going to hear about Jesus’ preparation for ministry, hanging with John the Baptizer, AND, just in case you ever wondered where there were verses in the Bible that support the doctrine of the Trinity…that God is one essence in three persons, stay tuned. I’ll call it out as we get there.
