Lead:

Moses doesn’t say IF, but WHEN. And then teaches Israel a song.

Intro:

Hey friends, we’re nigh on the end of March and I’m still figuring out this new rhythm — instead of reading the Bible in a year at a pace of seven days a week, we’re doing five. AND because this makes things longer, with the feedback of some listeners, I put the New Testament first and then just finished what I could of the Old Testament.

And, of course, I gave myself a little more liberty to re-introduce those teachable moments…those comments that come up in the middle of the reading.

All this means that we’re five chapters behind in the Old Testament. I could just let it roll as there will be time in the fall when we’d have the time to make it up.

OR…I could do what I’m doing today…knocking down the end of Deuteronomy so we’re sticking with the plan. So…whether you take an extra walk or put it on while making dinner, here goes.

Friday we ended part of the way through Moses’ third speech or sermon, and the last bit was a warning about abandoning the covenant, ending with the words, “The hidden things belong to the Lord our God, but the revealed things belong to us and our children forever, so that we may follow all the words of this law.” (Dt 29:29, CSB).
