If what David prays isn’t the source of your courage, maybe it should be!

Intro:

Yesterday we read about David’s clear rise to power not only over all Israel, but clearly in a way that the nations feared him as well. All of this, of course, was with God’s help.

Today we hear about how he brought the Ark of the Covenant to Jerusalem. Remember, this is the vessel God had directed to be built with the first tabernacle, or tent-temple, back in the days when they were in the desert when God had led them out of exile in Egypt. It not only held the tablets with the Ten Commandments on them, but it is symbolic of God’s very presence among them. After this, we end with an important chapter, one that recounts the story of God’s promise to David that the Messiah would be one of his descendants and that His kingdom would rule forever. Don’t miss David’s prayer at the end and pay particular attention to how he speaks about courage.
